Current Status

The Logos testnet is currently live. The testnet includes the LEZ sequencer, a block explorer, and demo applications for atomic swaps and ZK-multisig. It is designed for backend validation and developer experimentation.

Overview

Logos Blockchain is a proof-of-stake layer-1 with privacy built into the consensus mechanism itself, rather than added at the application layer. Block proposers are anonymous and transactions are private by default. The chain supports application-specific execution environments called Sovereign Zones, which will be connected for interoperability.

Cryptarchia: Private Proof-of-Stake

Many proof-of-stake systems reveal who proposed each block, creating a target for censorship, bribery, and coercion. Logos solves this with Cryptarchia, a private proof-of-stake mechanism in which block proposers are selected through a private lottery and anonymised through Blend, a mixnet-based protocol that makes it hard to link a proposal to its proposer through network analysis. Validators take part in consensus without revealing their identity during block proposal — a level of proposer privacy that few proof-of-stake networks provide.

Logos Execution Zone (LEZ)

The LEZ is the first Sovereign Zone, serving as the primary execution environment for applications on the Logos blockchain. Separate but interoperable public and private state allows applications to operate across both transparent and privacy-preserving accounts without changing their logic. Privacy is enforced by the protocol itself through zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs).
